Businesses in Betong's tourism quarter will assure to fill 60 seats on each Nook Air flight sure for the newly-opened airport if the airline has the same opinion to drop round-ride fares from Bangkok to 5,000 baht, the Tourism Association said on Thursday.

The association's vice-president, Narin Ruengwongsa, said tour operators have discussed the offer with the airline, which agreed to drop spherical-journey ticket costs to approximately 6,000 baht.

As the ones tickets now promote for around 7,000 baht, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advised the airline to cowl the 1,000-baht difference -- a suggestion Nok Air has yet to approve.

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon on Thursday dismissed worries approximately feasible system faults in industrial operations at the airport, after it become reported that the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC) became looking for extra money to assist the Department of Airports (DoA) fund the airport's operations.

Gen Prawit, in his capability as chair of a panel on the development of southern border provinces, insisted the airport is operational. He said operations might not be disrupted even as the request of the finance is being sorted out.

He also stated the transfer of Duangporn Suwanmanee, who served as Narathiwat airport director and Betng airport's performing director, to the Airports Standard Control Division will now not affect operations.
