To Introduce Air Link Non Stop Harare – Cape Town Flight In March

Privately owned provincial airline Air  link will in March introduce non stop Harare Cape Town Flights. The news that Airlink, which according to exploratory journalists News Hawks is the region’s second-largest airline after Ethiopian Airlines, will play the way first spread last year in December.

 

Airlink CEO Rodger Foster according to Engineering News said they were excited to show off the new route back in December 2020 when they announced the development. Foster allegedly said:

 

Airlink is excited to be introduction this important new route, which will provide expediency to  business and leisure travelers, saving them precious some hours transferring via Johannesburg and also warning their contact to potential touch points, which is a key consideration as we adjust our travelling habits during the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

 

Airlink’s unique service on the route will also carry trade, tourism and commerce between the two cities and their particular markets at a time when it is very much needed.

 

The airline’s opening flight between the 2 cities will be on 3 March 2021. Air link will join Rwanda Air in flying the same route. Air Zimbabwe has said they will also fly the same way soon but the standard carrier still has 2 airplane and they are still doing 2 domestic routes and 1 regional route to Dar Err Salam in Tanzania.

Lufthansa started South Africa-Europe flights operation after Covid-19

Lufthansa has started its operation to include further flights between Johannesburg/Cape Town  and Frankfurt as well as twice a week flights between Johannesburg  and Zurich by Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS).

 Lufthansa started South Africa-Europe flights operation By working closely with both the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Embassy of Switzerland in South Africa, as well as local government, the Lufthansa Air will continue to operate special flights to enable South African nationals to return their homes while transporting  the German and the Swiss nationals, European Union members and Schengen State people to their respective homes. Also, the Lufthansa special flights will allow employees of the German and EU business community, including technical experts, to travel to South Africa for special work purposes.

 “Currently, these kind of flights are the mainly vital service that an airline can offer in a country where travel restrictions remain in place. As South Africa is a main trading partner to Switzerland, Germany and Austria, it's important that the Lufthansa Air remains dynamically present in the market and maintains strong relations between Europe & South Africa.

We are pleased to continue servicing the local market in this manner until travel bans are lifted and all Lufthansa Group carriers are given consent to resume its planned services to Cape Town & Johannesburg and,” says Dr. AndrĂ© Schulz, GM sales, Lufthansa Group, Southern Africa & East Africa.
